Pictures from Today's Yoga

Hannah and I worked out today.  We did about a half hour's worth of yoga, then we swam, then we worked with Sally and some of her friends through an hour or so of Mossa Group Power.

True story: Mossa kills me every time.  It's all super-endurnace weight training built of groups of sixteen, and it is not easy.

But we took some pictures during yoga 'cause we're like yoga-fit-people, and that's the reason for this post.  Granted, not quite stand-on-your-head yoga-fit-people, but considering that I'm a 42-year-old man I think I do okay.

Pre-workout, and we're all smiles.
Hannah's cobbler (bound angle).
Her knees are on the floor because she's 12.
They do this one in gymnastics.  I've no idea what it's called, but I'm nowhere
near this flexible.
My eagle needs some work.  And I forgot the footing.
My crescent (forward lunge).
This is about as good as my yoga gets.
Not great back extension, but I can get pretty low.
Been working on that to stretch my groin & hip flexors.

After yoga, we hit the pool.  Hannah's swim workout consisted of:

Warm-Up
 - 2 x 50 breast @ :30 rest

2 x Main Set
 - 4 x 25 @ :30 rest
 - 4 x 25 kick @ :30 rest

I swam in college, but Hannah has never done any organized team-style swimming.  Still, she said today that she'd like to do another triathlon, so we probably need to start ramping up her mileage.

No pictures from Mossa, unfortunately.  It was killer, though.  Maybe next time.

  1. Nice. My knees also used to touch the ground like Hannah. Thanks to arthritis, yoga is one of the few things that my body really benefits from. Thanks for sharing.
