5 Things on a Friday: Pics from Our Camping Trip

We're back from vacation today, having spent a few days camping up by Lake George.  It was much cooler up there, but we got rained on a few times.  The trip was a lot of fun, but I'm sort of enjoying being back, too.
How was your week?  Good?

The parade had been planned for the day before Veterans Day but Pentagon spokesperson Col. Rob Manning said Thursday, without explanation, that organizers would "explore opportunities in 2019."
The announcement followed the latest estimate of $92 million for the cost of the display, a figure media outlets attributed to unnamed U.S. officials. Defense Secretary James Mattis scoffed at that figure, saying, "I guarantee you there's been no cost estimate," when asked by reporters during a trip to Bogota, Colombia.
I believe Mattis.  I doubt very much whether anyone knows or cares how much this would cost.
Where Bridgewater has the advantage thus far is in decision-making, uncanny ball placement and a willingness to pull the trigger on deeper throws. Through two games, he has completed 17 of 23 passes (73.9 percent) for 212 yards (9.2 YPA), two touchdowns, one interception and a 113.0 passer rating.
Perhaps most promising from the perspective of teams weighing the cost-benefit analysis of surrendering draft capital in trade talks, Bridgewater has moved well in and out of the pocket and bounced right back after taking a hit to his lower legs. NFL Network analyst Charley Casserly believes the Jets' version of Bridgewater might end up being an improvement on the player who earned the Pepsi Rookie of the Year award with the Vikings in 2014.
Lotta Giant fans out there who’d like the franchise to trade for Bridgewater in lieu of would-be QB-of-the-future Davis Webb.  That would be tough with the salary cap implications, but were Bridgewater to make it to free agency at the end of the year, I wouldn’t mind seeing New York make a play for the guy.

[Worthman] often struggled in 2017, averaging 3.8 yards per carry and completing a Tim Tebow-like 49.5 percent of his passes. Monken is a big fan of Worthman’s talents, but Monken’s team silenced him at Falcon Stadium in a 21-0 shutout.
But Worthman, even in a down season, had his moments. Against Navy, the Falcons fell behind 38-17 and looked on their way to a drubbing of historic levels…
“I don’t know if there’s any kind of a slump for him,” [Monken] says. “I think he’s a really talented player. We recruited him, and we worked really, really hard to try to get him to West Point. He’s a terrific kid and a really good player.”
Yeah, you know, it wasn’t Air Force’s offense that was losing games last season.  Their run defense was terrible.  But they beat a very good, pass-happy team from Colorado State.
The San José State-Army West Point game now becomes the first of four premier college football contests this season at Levi's Stadium. The 49ers' home also is hosting the Pac-12 Football Championship game on November 30, the San Francisco Bowl on December 31 and the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 7, 2019. Levi's Stadium previously hosted three college games in 2014, including a regular season meeting between Cal and Oregon and has staged two college football games in each of the last three seasons.
This is apparently part of the 49ers’ business model.  Pretty good idea if you ask me.
5. Pics from Vacation
Camp Cabeza, our home away from home.
Sally & the kids indulged my childlike fascination with caves.
Zen master Sally finds her Zen.
This place was basically a little tourist trap north of the town of Lake George, but it was really cool, too.
The creepiest mini-golf on Earth.
The kids loved how insane this place was.
We spent a day at Six Flags Great Escape.  It was awesome!
The Sasquatch was everyone's favorite.  It reminded me strongly of the
250' towers at Ft. Benning.

That's all I've got!  Enjoy the weekend.
