Just when you think maybe the Yankees have turned the corner...

...you get a night like that.

Starting pitcher Domingo German threw a quality start with nine strikeouts but also three earned runs--two homers and an RBI double.  But still...

It looked a little rough early, but it got the job done.

Alas, the offense didn't hit, and down 3-1 the Yanks brought in RP Jonathan Holder.  He "gave up two runs on three hits while only recording one out."  Ouch.  That is garbage.

Not that it mattered.  The Yankees didn't get another run all game, and that against a Royals bullpen that's been more than struggling this season.  The first relief pitcher they faced had an ERA above *16*, and they didn't get a hit!

That's not how you win.

The Yanks are two games below .500, and supposedly C Gary Sanchez might be coming back soon.  They could also really use SS Troy Tulowitski.

Bottom line, this a team that's supposed to score runs, and they're not scoring.  That's a problem, but getting Sanchez back at a minimum would really help.

Thankfully, Aaron Judge is still Aaron Judge.

So there's still hope, and it's only April.  But this--supposedly very good--team has been maddeningly inconsistent, and it's driving me crazy.

Folks, this is not how you win the World Series.
