I had this conversation with Sally just yesterday. Results were a little more interesting than I expected.
Let's review.
1. Watch less bad football.
Yeesh. The good Lord was apparently listening when I wrote this out of sheer, unadulterated frustration following the 2019 Army-Navy Game.
Be careful what you wish for...

I'd actually give a lot to watch a little bad football right now, especially bad college football. Oops.
2. Care less about things I cannot control.
I try every day. For better or worse, 2020 has been filled to the absolute brim with crazy crap that's essentially outside of my control. A lot of it's been really maddening.
As just one example, I try to wear my mask around people without yelling at those same people for not wearing their masks around me. Granted, I'm not in any risk groups, so maybe that's a little easier for me. It also inclines with my New Year's goal. However, a bunch of folks aren't doing it that way, and maybe they're right.
My personal sense, though, is that our society has moved beyond simple discourse. For better or worse, ain't nobody changing their mind out there about anything. We just are where we are. With that, I'm trying to live the best, most fulfilling life that I can.
3. Ski more.
We were totally doing it until COVID hit. Still made it out nine times. My goal was ten, so that's not too bad.
4. Continue living locally.
Another challenge, but one that gets easier with practice. I'm at least riding pretty regularly with a local friend, and despite COVID, I went to another friend's birthday party. Still, this remains a work-in-progress.
5. Finish drafting something that's not in any way related to As For Football.
I totally did this. You want to test-read for me, reach out and let me know.
Granted, not having any football to write about whatsoever has helped.
