Consider the last 12 months in the greater New York City Area:
1. Second hottest summer on record.
2. Freak October snowstorm.
3. Earthquake!
4. Hurricane makes landfall in Brooklyn!
5. Winter so mild that I could put in an average of 45 miles per week on my bike.
6. 86-degree day in April.
7. A spring drought so severe we're seeing daily forest fires in Connecticut and Long Island.
So now that the climate has changed, these events are now going to be normal every year. If they aren't normal every year, then the climate has not changed. Am I correct?
ReplyDeleteI've had multiple folks tell me that you shouldn't confuse weather with climate change, but yeah, I do think we're in for more wacky weather long-term. I mean, I don't know how many more earthquakes to expect, but it's certainly been strange for the past twelve months of so.
