Turkeys will be big as humans in just 150 years. In 6,000, they will dwarf the Earth itself http://t.co/AT0g0VStbd pic.twitter.com/iQ9CT0MNQo

"Humans may soon have to look to their laurels as the planet’s dominant species. Turkeys, heretofore harmless, have been exploding in size, swelling from an average 13.2lb (6kg) in 1929 to over 30lb today. On the fairly scientific assumption that present trends will persist, The Economist estimates that turkeys will be big as humans in just 150 years. Before 6,000 years are out, turkeys will dwarf the Earth itself." Link.

Exclusive: U.S. CEOs threaten to pull tacit Obamacare support over 'wellness' spat http://t.co/Bg9hcN7o3H
— Reuters U.S. News (@ReutersUS) November 29, 2014
"Major U.S. corporations have broadly supported President Barack Obama's healthcare reform despite concerns over several of its elements, largely because it included provisions encouraging the wellness programs. The programs aim to control healthcare costs by reducing smoking, obesity, hypertension and other risk factors that can lead to expensive illnesses. A bipartisan provision in the 2010 healthcare reform law allows employers to reward workers who participate and penalize those who don't."
Ugh. Nobody's saying that you don't have the right to be as unhealthy as you want to be. They're saying that if you choose to live an unhealthy lifestyle, you ought to pay more for your health insurance. The alternative is for the ever-shrinking pool of healthy Americans to continue to subsidize unhealthy behavior via insurance premiums that they rarely need.
