5 Things on a Friday: In the Top 10!

Happy Friday, everyone.  Let’s go!

1. Tulane's Willie Fritz looking for balanced offense in search for new coordinator (New Orleans Advocate)
While he is unsure exactly what Tulane’s offense will look like next year, coach Willie Fritz made clear on Sunday what it will not resemble.
Forget about a return to the ground-bound approach he used in two years at Georgia Southern and even for much of his initial season with the Green Wave. He said he always would emphasize a strong running game, but he stressed the importance of balance when he talked about his search for a new offensive coordinator as Tulane began preparing for its Dec. 15 matchup with Louisiana-Lafayette in the Cure Bowl.
“I want to be a 50-50 team,” he said. “We’re not all of a sudden going to become an air raid team that throws 65 times a game, all that stuff, but I’m open to tempo.”
I guess this means he’s going away from that funky, spread read-option offense he’d been running.  That’s a shame.  Tulane didn’t always run that thing with enough precision, but man, it was fun to watch.
Tulane is at Army on October 5th next year.  That looks like the best matchup on the home schedule as of this writing.
10. Armed Forces Bowl
Houston vs. Army -- Dec. 22, 3:30 p.m.: This game would have ranked higher had Houston's Ed Oliver been playing in the game, but considering his earning potential at the next level, I wouldn't want to be facing an option team and its blocking scheme in my final college game, either. This game will still present an intriguing matchup of conflicting offensive styles that should be entertaining to watch.
Top 10!  Not sure I would have ranked it that high, but I’ll take it.
That looks great.
[Doctors] should prescribe protein powders and weight lifting to pensioners to help reverse frailty, health experts have recommended.
Increases in life expectancy have led to rising numbers of frail elderly people and it is estimated that one in 10 people suffers with infirmity, rising to half of those over 80.
I can’t believe that this counts as news.  It is the most obvious advice I’ve ever read.
Let me put this to you another way: once your kids are grown and out of the house, your body begins to think that its work is done, that it’s about time to lay down its burdens.  To stay fit, you therefore have to trick it into thinking that it’s not dying.  Exercise is great for that.  Moreover, resistance training improves bone density and joint strength, both of which are important for continued mobility.
This is not complicated.  If you exercise, your body will repair and strengthen itself.  If you don’t exercise, you will atrophy.
5. Go Army!  Beat Navy!!!

I’m excited, folks.  Let’s get it on!!!
Go Army! Beat Navy!!!
