#AsForDynamite: Alright. Even *I* Didn't Like That One.

I wrote earlier this week about how AEW is a young man's or woman's company, and then they throw *that* out there.

I was excited for Dynamite, not so much because of the All In footage but because of the opportunity showing that footage presented. I thought that surely they would lean into the company's awesomeness with all the Punk stans rage-watching.

It seemed simple. Roll Osprey out there, let him have a BANGER the way that only he can, and that puts your best foot forward to a potentially new audience.

Whether new folks like it or not is up to them. At least you've done what YOU do.

That is not what they did. And for as much as I can appreciate the beauty and brilliance of watching 50-year-old Adam Copeland going full lucha libre in a 20+ minute match with Penta, did it really need three segments?

We did Copeland, we did Jericho and Lion-Hook, and we did Dustin Rhodes vs. Samoa Joe. We gave Osprey a live mic for maybe five minutes. The best pure wrestling on the entire show was Mariah May vs. freaking Anna Jay, and it ended with a lesbian love angle!

Sigh.

I get that they must occasionally do some angle-heavy shows in order to set up bigger angles and matches down the line. And I actually liked the angle they built for the Bucks vs. FTR. If they *had* to show the footage, this was the way to do it. However, that angle aligns the EVPs -- and therefore the company itself -- as the heels in this feud, and that could be a problem. I mean, yeah, they want folks to boo the Bucks. But they definitely DO NOT want those same folks cheering for a washed up has-been who now works for the competition.

Moreover, they could've sliced a segment off the Copeland match, maybe cut a minute off the thing with the Bucks, and cut the Osprey segment, and we'd have had time to do, say, Will Hobbs vs. Kommander.

What can you do?

Anyway. I have long said that AEW Collision tends to be my favorite show because that's a freaking wrestling show, and I like the wrestling. We've still got Rampage and Collision later this week, so here's hoping we get some actual grap's later this week.
