Triathlon Training Basics: The Points System (Metric)

My friend Axel (Iron Rogue) is Canadian.  He liked the Points System post last week but wanted a metric version.  Not an unreasonable request, but one that I had honestly never before considered.

That said, I thought the challenge of building a metric version of the system sounded intriguing.  Of course, there’s not actually a need for one.  If you use the points system, I think it’s implied that you will use it with a spreadsheet, in which case you can embed the conversion formula right into the other formulas on the sheet.

Liebster Awards (Part 3): My Nominees

This blog was nominated for a Liebster Award earlier in the week.  The Liebsters are a pay-it-forward kind of blogging award designed to help others find new and interesting small-readership blogs in the vast, unexplored reaches of the Internet.

The good thing about the Liebsters is that being nominated means that someone’s reading your blog, and that they like your work.  By participating in the process, you can pass that love along and help others find readership, too.
Bloggers participate by:
3. Nominating ten new blogs of their own, preferably with 200 members or less.
4. Posing ten new questions to the new nominees.
Dan and Sally’s Digital Domain was nominated by Axel from Iron Rogue.  Now, finally, my nominations for the next round of Liebsters are below, along with my ten questions for the new nominees.

Bloggers participate by:
2. Answering ten questions from the blog that nominated them.
3. Nominating ten new blogs of their own, preferably with 200 members or less.

Liebster Nomination (Part 1): Ten Facts About Me

My new friend Axel Kussman nominated this blog for a Liebster Award yesterday.  The Liebsters are a kind of pay-it-forward blogging award meant to help others discover new, interesting, exciting corners of the blog-o-sphere.  Axel writes the blog Iron Rogue, which is mostly about his triathlon career, but the guy is also both a comics & pop-culture fan and a working engineer.  That makes him a decidedly kindred spirit.

What kind of guy takes up triathlon?

To find out, all you have to do is read Iron Rogue.  Axel is an active family guy with a successful career, great looking wife and kids, and a lot going on, both in and out of the world of sport.  This, I think, is a perfect example of why so many triathletes blog.  Because they have a lot going on, and they want to share all that joy with others.  Speaking personally, I've only just started reading Iron Rogue, and I already love it.
